The vulva is magical and a gateway to pleasure!
Home  >  Workshops  >  The Art of Vulva Pleasuring
Due to COVID-19 our in-person workshop versions are temporarily postponed. In the meantime you might want to check out our 'Online Social' as a possible solution to social isolation: https://www.curiouscreatures.biz/online-social.html
Or click on our 'Online Workshops' menu to see everything on offer.

In this workshop, Relationship Counselor and Clinical Sexologist Dr Martha Tara Lee will help you to understand the vulva and the vagina better (and how to give pleasure with touch), regardless of your gender or sexual orientation. You will feel more comfortable with this part of the body and more in tune with your own needs or that of your partner.

‘The Art of Vulva Pleasuring’ is based on the tantric vulva massage techniques developed by Dr Joseph Kramer who created the Sexological Bodywork certification. As a trained sexological bodyworker, Relationship Counselor & Clinical Sexologist, Dr Martha Tara Lee has been teaching these techniques for the past 10 years. As a facilitator she has a direct, straight-talking, and witty facilitation style. Prepare for sometimes irreverent jokes, personal anecdotes, and plenty of fun!

If you are a person with a vulva then you are very welcome to come and learn more about your body. When you are comfortable in your body, and know it intimately, your sexuality is yours to celebrate and share. More pleasure can be yours.

If you seeking to please a vulva owner ... Yes, this workshop is also for you! You can increase your sexual knowledge and skills, and give more pleasure. And then with more knowledge and skills, comes confidence.

You will Learn:
  • Sexual anatomy – including the location of the elusive G spot
  • More than 20 erotic massage techniques for the labia, clitoris, vagina, and the G spot
  • Types of lubricants to incorporate into your sex play
  • The role and importance of breathing for orgasmic experiences
  • How to experiment with speed, pressure, and rhythm
  • How to achieve long-lasting ecstasy
  • What an energy orgasm is

These are the same techniques taught to vulva owners (and their partners) who experience Vaginismus, painful sex, and lack of orgasm. They are, therefore, therapeutic techniques often taught and used in tantra and somatic bodywork. You may well save yourself years of heartache, confusion, and sexual anxiety due to a lack of understanding about sexual functioning. All your emotions, questions, and laughter are welcomed!

Format:
  • Welcome + introduction
  • Optional ‘Vulva Parade’ with nudity, in order to release shame around our genitals and reclaim our sexuality – one round of sharing just for vulva owners, and then the rest of the group is invited to appreciate this part of the sexual anatomy
  • You may be able to participate in optional vulva massage kiosks – individually, or as a pair, or as a witness if someone is willing
  • Follow along as Dr Martha does demonstration and explanation of vulva massage with a live model
  • Time for questions and answers

Interactive and Experiential parts:
Almost the entire workshop will be interactive and experiential. This is a clothing-optional hands-on workshop – please bring your own sarong or towel to lie on / preferred lubricant / plastic gloves if possible. You can also bring pillow(s) for back / head support if you like (the venue will also have some cushions). You can do self-massage or have your partner (of any gender) practice these techniques on you alongside Dr Martha’s demonstration with explanation on a live model. If you are attending alone, you can choose to see if there are other participant(s) willing to work with you, others’ willing for you to witness them, or just witness the presenter’s demonstration.

Core Benefits for Participants:
  • Increased sexual knowledge, confidence, and performance
  • Letting go of the sexual shame around nudity and genital touch
  • Understand the link between genital massage and common sexual challenges vulva owners face - for instance, genital massage can increase skills around orgasm and decrease pain
  • Increased confidence and creativity with vulva play / massage

Bring:
  • Come in comfortable clothes
  • Your own towel / sarong for lying on the floor, and any preferred lubricant and plastic gloves (we will also provide these)
  • Pillow(s) for back / head support if you like (there will be cushions)

The Art of Vulva Pleasuring is presented by Dr Martha Tara Lee (from Eros Coaching in Singapore) who strives to be one of the best sexologists in the world. She has a great knowledge of her material, and is very direct and humorous (to the point of irreverence) in her delivery.  She doesn’t subscribe to the idea that we need to take ourselves too seriously when talking about sex.

If you're interested in this workshop you may want to check out Dr Martha Lee's other upcoming workshops in Brisbane or in Melbourne, especially The Art of Penis Pleasuring, Fun with Fellatio and Orgasmic Yoga. Or Curious Creatures' associated workshops, Fun Little Sex Games, Adventurous Touch & Intimacy, The Forest: Touch & Embodiment Ritual and the adventurous Curiosity workshop and playspace. Tickets, Logistics, and Late Policy:
Our 'rounds' of tickets are really simple: they're all the same, except that some of them are cheaper, to encourage you to book in early (because it makes a huge difference to us in terms of planning).
Round One tickets are similar to 'early bird' tickets, and make up almost half of all ticket sales.
Round Two tickets, slightly more expensive than Round One, also make up almost half of all ticket sales.
Round Three tickets are generally only there once we're close to being sold out, but can squeeze in a late-comer or two.

If you're feeling generous, you can buy whatever ticket feels right, but in general, folks buy the cheapest ones available.

Tickets range in price from $95 to $125, per person.

It is never possible to buy tickets on the door, nor by paying with cash. See our FAQ for more information on this.

Workshops start at the advertised time, and doors will be locked ten minutes later. This is because late arrivals interrupt the dynamic of the group, and will miss crucial safety information.

MORE QUESTIONS?
VERSION FOR SINGLES & COUPLES. Couples can work together, and singles may work on themselves, witness, or work with other singles (but this is not guaranteed).

Q: Who are these workshops for?
A: For individuals or couples who wish to learn more about sexual anatomy, and genital massage – regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, race, religion, or nationality.

Q: I don’t have a partner to come with.
A: This workshop is being offered to individuals or couples at this time, so it is a non-issue. If you attend with your partner, you’d get to use the same terms/vocabulary after the workshop which makes life easier. You also have the option to attend with a friend - it’s fun to learn together!

Q: But… I’m shy!
A: Don’t worry. You will never be forced to do or say anything during the workshop. Many participants in the past have chosen to just sit and learn without saying a word. We respect individual choice.

Q: How can I persuade my partner to attend these workshops? (though not beyond what is right for them and their boundaries)
A: You could explain that Dr Martha has been running such workshops for close to 10 years, and many participants have said they had to overcome their resistance and are now glad they attended it. We suggest you might encourage your partner by saying that there will be other shy people there too, and everybody attending is there to learn to improve their lives.

Q: I don’t see why I need to learn about massaging my own genitals (I can’t possibly do it right?)
A: Actually you can (massage your own genitals) – not all the strokes though. Each of us need to learn about our sexual anatomy so we can claim our sexuality fully. It is only when we know who we are and what we like, that we will be able to communicate better and more deeply with our partner(s).

Q: Will there be nudity?
A: Yes, we will be doing live demonstrations plus there is optional hands-on practice for participants as they follow along.

Q: Will there be touch?
A: Yes, between consenting partners.

Q: Will you be doing any demo on a person?
A: Yes on our pre-arranged live models.

Q: Do you need any live models?
A: You can volunteer through Curious Creatures: https://www.curiouscreatures.biz/contact.html Please advise which Curious Creatures’ workshops you’ve attended, and any experience you have in a helper role (with Curious Creatures or with others).

Q: Ratio of talk to experiential?
A: About 50/50 percent.

Q: What should I bring?
A: A towel or sarong for lying on the floor. Pillow(s) for back/head support, if you like. Any preferred lubricant and plastic gloves (we will also provide these). A wrap or sweater in case it gets cool. A water bottle is advisable.

Q: What should I wear?
A: Please come wearing loose-fitting comfortable clothes so you have the option of sitting on the floor.

Q: What is your refund policy?
A: https://www.curiouscreatures.biz/policies.html#refundpolicy
"Very safe space, respectful and interactive. The "parade" was a great way to normalise the differences and similarities between vulvas."
•
"Liberating. I loved the frank, open uninhibited approach."
•
"What a wonderful workshop!  I had wanted to do a vulva massage course for years and Dr Lee's workshop was everything I had hoped for and MORE.  I love the openness, the sex positivity, her serious but light-hearted, joyful presentation, the safe and cordial environment and the clear and varied instructions.  I also very appreciate how Dr Lee went through all the techniques twice. I’m very keen on incorporating the techniques into a whole body sensual massage and into the wider context of connecting with and holding space for the vulva-owner."
•
"The educator was brilliant, and while the nudity and intimacy of touch was confronting at first, it ended up being really freeing and powerful, and great to sit with the barriers of my internalised shame/prudery as it arose. It was a really informative and respectful space. Vulvas are awesome! It felt like a really important thing to bring vulva-owners' pleasure to a central position. I also loved being in a space with people who were excited about the possibilities of learning more."
