There is vast literature of the benefits of hugging and yet we are a touch-deprived society ...
Due to COVID-19 our in-person workshop versions are temporarily postponed. In the meantime you might want to check out our 'Online Social' as a possible solution to social isolation: https://www.curiouscreatures.biz/online-social.html
Or click on our 'Online Workshops' menu to see everything on offer.
There is vast literature of the benefits of hugging and yet we are a touch-deprived society. We are afraid to touch, to ask for touch, and to reach out for the touch we need.
This snuggle party is a workshop for adult participants on the art of consensual and boundary-appropriate touch. The premise of cuddle parties is the recognition that the 'need to be held' is very close to and equally vital as more conventionally accepted human needs like thirst, hunger, and sex.
We’d like to invite you to come co-create this safe space in which all genders can begin to communicate more authentically and listen profoundly.
In this space, you will have the benefit of doing as little or as much as you desire – and will be encouraged to just be you. You will learn to create strong boundaries for yourself without shutting others down and begin to be more open to others and able to give and receive comfortably, and be touched, valued and nurtured.
Format:
Interactive and Experiential parts:
Almost the entire workshop will be interactive and experiential. This is a clothes-on and non-genital workshop – please bring your own blanket/yoga mat/pillows if possible. For the sake of others, please don’t wear any fragrance, and if you smoke please make efforts to reduce that smell.
Core Benefits for Participants:
Bring:
Snuggle Party is presented by Dr Martha Tara Lee (from Eros Coaching in Singapore) who strives to be one of the best sexologists in the world. She has a great knowledge of her material, and is very direct and humorous (to the point of irreverence) in her delivery. She doesn’t subscribe to the idea that we need to take ourselves too seriously when talking about sex.
If you're interested in this workshop you may want to check out Dr Martha Lee's other upcoming workshops in Brisbane or in Melbourne, especially Soul Gazing, Deep Listening and Rediscovering Sexuality. Or Curious Creatures' associated workshops, Curiously Social Creatures and The Forest: Touch & Embodiment Ritual. Or see our 25+ sexuality and self-development workshops.

Tickets, Logistics, and Late Policy:
Our 'rounds' of tickets are really simple: they're all the same, except that some of them are cheaper, to encourage you to book in early (because it makes a huge difference to us in terms of planning). Round One tickets are similar to 'early bird' tickets, and make up almost half of all ticket sales. Round Two tickets, slightly more expensive than Round One, also make up almost half of all ticket sales. Round Three tickets are generally only there once we're close to being sold out, but can squeeze in a late-comer or two. If you're feeling generous, you can buy whatever ticket feels right, but in general, folks buy the cheapest ones available. Tickets range in price from $55 to $80, per person. It is never possible to buy tickets on the door, nor by paying with cash. See our FAQ for more information on this. Workshops start at the advertised time, and doors will be locked ten minutes later. This is because late arrivals interrupt the dynamic of the group, and will miss crucial safety information. |

"It was very enjoyable. Once we all got better acquainted and relaxed, most of us got down to physical touch and massaging in an intimate way to the limits of each other. Mist of us wanted it to never end as we were so into the sexually charged cuddling and touching. I can't wait till my next workshop!"

"The facilitator from Singapore was fantastic. I really liked the way she spoke to us and ran the event."
•
"It was awesome. Loved the exercises with Dr Lee and the huddle later. We had all done the Forest, and were very clear on what we desired and the boundaries. It was amazing to be able to share our needs, wants and desires and have the other people in the huddle make it happen."
•
"Snuggle party was good. Dr Martha is a great facilitator. She was clear with her instructions and made us feel really comfortable. I also deeply enjoyed the company of like minded people. Its a great community."

"I attended my first hugging party hosted by Dr Martha Lee in September. I went into the event with a curious mind not knowing what to expect. There were 8 other participants and initially there were shyness and apprehension in the air not knowing what to do. The host Martha did a great job with a series of short exercises which involves eye contact, hand holding and sending warm loving intention to each other to shorten our distance and ease us into the trusting mood and to provide a safe space to be who we are. We also did some affirmation and assertive exercise which I have found very useful to bring about self awareness and to learn to listen to our body. The session ended with group massage, spontaneous and friendly group hug at the end of which we all felt like best friends after a mere two hours of interaction. All in all it has been a really refreshing and unique experience, something I would definitely recommend for people who are looking to live life in vibrant colours.”
•
“Hugging party was a unique experience. At first it might seem something you want to avoid, after a while you realise that it is actually a genuine experience. Again, you relied too much on the 1st impression. It actually feels good and if you have an open mind for new and unique experiences, I suggest you explore the Hugging party.”
